    PAV SHERGILL

    After graduating from university with a BA Honours in Marketing, Pav went on to enjoy a successful career in Marketing and Communications, before starting MVG in 2013. Starting her career on the Michael Page International Graduate Scheme, Pav went on to work for West Midlands Police as a Press and PR Officer, which is where she realised her niche for working with specialist markets. During her time with WMP Pav lead on PR campaigns to engage with Black and Minority Media to help improve the communication between the police and hard to reach community groups. Wanting to develop her corporate experience Pav decided to join the NEC Group Communications team, working across the Groups many brands. It was during her time working for the NEC Group that Pav noticed a gap in the market for a specialist agency supporting venues with the sales, marketing and delivery of Asian events and MVG was established.     Jodie started her career in the hospitality industry working for the Belfry Golf Resort and Spa. Having spent two years in events support and customers service, Jodie moved on to work for the Birmingham Rep Theatre to work as part of event sales team. Having worked with MVG as a free-lance event coordinator over the years, Jodie’s meticulous and driven nature got her noticed by the management team, and as soon as a position became available Jodie was offered a full-time role with MVG.

    What is your biggest fear? Spiders! And heights
    What would you change about yourself if you could? I’d love to be more spontaneous (and about 3 inches taller)
    What really makes you angry? People who are inconsiderate and intolerant
    What motivates you to work hard? Knowing it can really make a difference to how wonderful an event can be and the joy it can give our clients
    What is your favourite thing about your career? There’s always so many things going on!
    What is your biggest complaint about your job? There’s always so many things going on…
    What is your proudest accomplishment? Running my own dinner as an independent event manager at 19 for a local sporting club.
    What makes you laugh the most? My friends and family
    What did you want to be when you were a child? A Pop Star or a Doctor (until I watched an episode of Casualty where a woman had her leg cut open)
    If you could choose to be anyone or do anything for a day what would it be? Go to Disney World VIP Style

    Sukhy has been working in the events industry for over 17 years. Starting her career as an Events Administrator for Second City Suite, Sukhy moved her way up to become an Event Manager for the New Bingley Hall. Having developed specialist skills within the Asian events market, Sukhy was head hunted by the Commercial Director of Edgbaston Stadium to introduce Asian events at the venue. During her time at Edgbaston, Sukhy grew their Asian events business, establishing Edgbaston as one of the most sought-after venues for Asian weddings. Looking for a new challenge, Sukhy joined the Ramada Park Hall & Spa Wolverhampton as a Conference and Banqueting coordinator, to gain more experience in corporate events. Having built her experience and skill set in event sales and management, Sukhy joined MVG in October 2017 as a Senior Events Manager to oversee the planning and event logistics across multiple venues.

    Graduating from university with a degree in Bio Medical Sciences, Nishma originally joined MVG as a temp to assist with the launch of the Midland Asian Wedding Awards. After successfully supporting the planning and delivery of the awards, Nishma was offered a permanent role as an Events Coordinator, before progressing on to manage all the health and safety and procurement needs of the business. Having excelled in every role Nishma was offered a place on the MVG graduate training programme which will support her development into the more senior position of Operations Manager.

    Arum has recently joined Monsoon Venue Group. His career in events expands over 13 years. He has looked after exhibitions, conferences, weddings. Arum looked after weddings for several years within The NEC Group where he worked for 12 years. He then took a bold, exciting decision to move to London and work for ExCeL London. Working as a Sales Executive for CentrEd at ExCeL helped to test his capabilities within this industry in the capital city. He was able to go in to a very competitive market and in to a new venue where he would be able to test myself in selling the venue to a new market. Arum’s main accomplishment within his sales career is having signed the F1 powerboat racing contract at ExCeL London. His passion for the organising of events, from corporate to weddings is why we look forward to having Arum work with Monsoon venue group to make customers dreams come true.
